Care Guidelines
Our dolls have beautiful high-quality vinyl skin and their faces have been hand-painted by talented craftspeople. Unlike plastic, vinyl is a porous material which means it may take on colour from things like felt pens, dye and makeup so it is best to avoid using these around your doll.
For cleaning the soft body:
Use a clean, white cloth and a little warm water. Allow to dry.
For cleaning the skin:
Mix a paste of baking soda and warm water and gently rub onto the skin. Be careful not to scrub too hard! Rinse off with warm water and dry with a towel. If you are cleaning her face make sure you don’t get water in her eyes as this may cause them to rust.
Be sure to never submerge your doll in water.
Hair care:
Pearl Dolls have a wig made from a very high quality fibre, similar to that used in wigs for people. To maintain this type of hair and decrease frizz, we highly recommend using a wire bristled hairbrush rather than a plastic brush. When you first start brushing your doll’s hair you will probably notice some hair loss. This is very normal for wigs and will decrease over time.
A small amount of water can be misted onto the hair (avoiding the eyes) to help with getting any tangles out. Brush out the ends of the hair first and then move up to the middle and then to the top. Never use products such as mousse or gel and avoid all types of heat such as hair straighteners, heated rollers and hair dryers.
We hope you and your Pearl Doll will enjoy all sorts of adventures together and we know you’ll enjoy caring for her as much as we have enjoyed creating her!
Please Note: Pearl Dolls are not intended for use by children under the age of 4 years. If younger children have access to this doll then please remove all small parts such as buttons and jewellery to avoid a choking hazard.
